Jen & Matt’s Love Story

Hall Engagement

Well it is 10 days until forever together for a dear friend of mine (not to mention the most calm easy going organized beautiful bride on the planet) and her very-soon-to-be husband. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be in the presence of this big love that I have only witnessed in ‘peeks and glimpses’ over the last few years. There is something so WHOLE and COMPLETE about a couple on their wedding day, and Jen & Matt have only been perfecting the art of togetherness over the years, it seems to come so natural.

I am honored that our collection will adorn the tables at your once in a lifetime celebration, and I truly look forward to being a small part of your beautiful, one of a kind love story. Here’s a little taste of the story from the Hall wedding website:

us as told by jen

Matt and I met over six years ago completely by chance. I happened to plan a visit to see my college friend Andrew before the summer ended and managed to make my way up in August of 2009. Matt came by Andrew’s house to bbq and hang out. He looked all rugged because he had just gotten off work. After the bbq we had a bonfire in the backyard and Matt and I talked all night. When I was leaving, I asked for directions to a gas station to get gas before I left. Matt told me to follow him to one, and I did. We kept chatting while getting gas and it wasn’t until after we finished putting gas in both our cars and I was about to leave that he finally asked for my number.

After that night we talked all the time but he wouldn’t ask me to be his girlfriend till he asked my dad because Matt can be a gentleman when he wants to be. After a month of talking and trying to find time to visit each other after I had started my junior year at Vanguard, we finally made the trip to Santa Clarita for him to meet my family. At dinner he asked my dad if he could date me and then later that day on September 20, 2009 I became his girlfriend.

We kept making our long distance relationship work even though we were 3 1/2 hours away from each other and I was going to school and working. Then in November of 2010 Matt left for boot camp which was a really rough time for us. He missed Christmas, New Year, his birthday, and my birthday. He just made it home in time to see me graduate from Vanguard in May 2010. After a year of long distance and 5 months of letters back and forth, I knew that this was the real deal.

The long distance was getting more and more straining on our relationship until we finally had enough of it. So in March of 2013 I finally took the plunge and left beautiful Orange County and moved up to Santa Maria to be with Matt.

The next two years were filled with so many fun memories of finally being able to act like a real couple. We could see each other after work, run mundane errands together, fold laundry, cook dinner and never missed another holiday or birthday. It felt like a whole new relationship all over again.

Then FINALLY on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 surrounded by my whole family, Matt got down on one knee and proposed. It was so sweet and I was completely surprised! It took a while for it to sink in that it had really happened. It wasn’t until after when everyone was hugging us and congratulating us that it really hit me. My whole family knew and even my best friend and they all managed to keep it a secret.

Since then we’ve been busier and more in love than ever! It’s been a very interesting journey and I’m sure the best is still ahead of us. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us as we start our lives together as husband and wife! Yay!

Welcome dear friends

Thank you for joining me on this one-of-a-kind culmination of my life&love&business!

It is a true honor to share this exciting season of life with you reading these words. It is important for me that I share the story of how the precious gift of grace brought my life path, business goals, love story,  and fairy tale childhood dreams together into an eternal kind of daily joy.

“Now you’ve got my feet on the life path, all radiant from the shining of your face. Ever since you took my hand, I’m on the right way.”  – The Message

If your anxious heart is anything like mine, you have had some sort of thought like this: “How could my imperfect today ever turn into the perfect tomorrow my heart so desires?” And I am here to let you in on a not so little secret…

It will not be perfect.
It will be perfectly imperfect.
It will be the right path.
It will be the life path.

The moment that I let myself take even the first small step into the deep & wide ocean of grace was the same moment that pieces started to come together. Love began to grow, my mind opened to learn. All the messy steps and pieces of my past began to take shape in a way I never even dared to dream they might. I find myself on the life path. And I wish I could explain to you exactly what that means, or exactly how it happens. But it truly is a story, a unique story for each us. Only because others have so graciously shared their stories, revelations & lessons with me over the years, can I stand here with this chance to tell my story. A very unique story about a little girl who couldn’t figure out why her hands were always trying to make new from the old.

I am learning day by day that we are called to so much more than we know. That goes for our lives, our abilities, even our dreams. I want to teach you how to keep your eyes peeled for a piece of happy throughout the not so pretty days of our lives. When we begin to fill our lives with these pieces of happy, well you can guess what happens…

it’s a little something like magic, and life&love&business becomes the happily ever after that you didn’t even dare to dream up, that once upon a time.
